Ellen Friis (1973) holds a BA in Scenography, Norwegian Theatre Academy with an MA in Interdisciplinary Art from Kunsthochschule Berlin (2005). She was exchanged to the performance art course “Crossing Boarders” at the Art Academy of Turku. Finland, 2002-2003.

Ellen Friis creates interdisciplinary works; performances, lectures, video, books, objects. Common for the works, is that they explore and demonstrate manipulations and transformations of time and space – through math, science, video-techniques and homemade tools. Often, they take a point of departure in historical persons and works.

Her works and performances have been presented in USA, England, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland and several other countries.

Ellen Friis is also co-founder of Center of Live Art DK.
